250 pilots complete a rating

Oct 13, 2008 - Lucas Dziesinski became the 250th pilot to have completed at least one ZLA Pilot Cert rating.  Lucas passed his V-1 (pattern work) rating under the control of Zach Pratt.

A total of 1548 flights have been conducted under the rating program, resulting in 12 runway overshoots, 3 collapsed mains, 58 barely intelligible calls to find pilots' mothers, and an astonishing $5244 in additional revenue for an increasingly busy laundromat near John Wayne airport.

The parade of unpronounceable surnames continues unabaited, too, moving into high gear with Lucas' well-timed rating attempt.  It seems it will only be a matter of time before aliens visit from a nearby galaxy and figure they'll give the V-1 a shot, too, with a name that sounds like a British football supporter clearing his nose.

Well....as long as they fly a tight pattern and keep it below 200kts, they're welcome to give it a shot!

Congratulations to the pilots that have taken part in the program to date, and as always, to the controllers for taking the time to support the program.
